Gorey Physical Therapy is a Physical Therapy practice that was set up and is managed by Lorraine Furney. In 2012 Lorraine graduated from UCD with a BSc (Hons) in Health and Performance Science and in 2016 she graduated from The Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science with a BSc in Applied Health Science and a Physical Therapy Qualification.

With these qualifications, Lorraine could register with the Irish Association of Physical Therapists and CORU, the state regulator for Health Professionals. Because of these qualifications Lorraine has a great understanding of the body, how it works, how injuries can affect the body and how to promote healing to these injuries, thus bringing you back to your best form.

After completing her degree Lorraine has gone on to complete many courses to compliment her work as a State Registered Physiotherapist. In 2016, she completed a dry needling course to compliment her physical therapy with Mike Monaghan in his clinic in Dun Laoighre, which is extremely popular among her clients. She also completed courses in Massage of Cancer Care and Pregnancy and Baby Massage in 2017 in Obus Holistic Wellness Centre, to increase the range of treatments she has available. Most recently she has completed a course in Indian Head Massage at Golden Egg Holistic, in Portlaoise, which she looks forward to using on new and old clients.

Lorraine also has a keen interest in sports. From the age of 9 years she participated in athletic competitions such as track and field and cross country, representing her club and Co. Wexford on many occasions in various competitions. In 2013, she started playing rugby for her local club, Gorey Rugby Club for 3 years.
